Menus are similar to collection elements, this means that they have 2 parts, design and data. The design component is the template of how each menu button will look.
You can edit the general template, individual buttons or even use more than one template in the same menu. The data component holds the information displayed by the element. For a menu it is the name of each page, you can also add more data fields such as an icon for each item and then link them to a design components.
